PoE Consortium, the Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) industry trade group founded in September 2022, has elected a new leadership team to continue the great effort started by Kim Johnson, immediate past president and her executive team in 2023.

All board directors will hold 1-year term leadership positions. Mecho’s Director of Automation David Robinson will serve as president, and Superior Essex’s Senior Director, Product Management & Partnerships Amir Sekhavat will fill the group’s vice president role.

David Robinson with over 35 years experience in the lighting and controls industry, is responsible for developing the sales and marketing strategies of the automated PoE shading solutions with SolarTrac^®. David is an advocate of the importance of the synergy between automated shades and automated lighting control systems in the delivery of Smart Sustainable Building designs.

Amir Sekhavat has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specializing in communications cabling products. Amir has published numerous articles and owns several patents related to data cable performance and connectivity, and he currently serves as the chairman of the Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA) New technology trends and sustainability subcommittee.

The Consortium membership has grown in the last 12 months to over 40 companies and we encourage everyone who is interested in supporting the PoE Consortium’s mission to advance PoE education, advocacy, and the sharing of best practices to join. Other Directors holding PoE Consortium leadership positions include:

• Harry Aller, president and CTO of Innovative Lighting, will serve as board treasurer. Aller has owned several US-based technology companies and has experience working with all phases of product integration.
• Jim Simpson, Director of Installer/Technician and Residential at the Electrical Training Alliance will serve as board secretary.
